Bio

I am a PhD Candidate in Philosophy at the Center for European Philosophy of the University of Antwerp. My research lies at the intersection of political theory and philosophy of technology and examines the changing conditions of political action in algorithmic publics from a (post-)phenomenological perspective. My doctoral project is funded by the Research Foundation Flanders (FWO). I also serve as managing editor of the Journal of Human-Technology Relations.

Before starting my PhD, I studied Philosophy at the University of Antwerp and Digital Culture and Society at King's College London. Throughout my student career, I took on several mandates as student representative. In 2018-2020, I was President of the Student Council of the University of Antwerp. As President, I was an active member of the Board of Governers, the Executive Board and the Education Board of the University of Antwerp. From this position, I helped co-create the European University Alliance YUFE (Young Universities for the Future of Europe). With the launch of the alliance, I was elected as President of the YUFE Student forum for 2019-2020.

In October 2021, I co-founded the non-profit organization De Virtuele Mens vzw ("The Virtual Human"): a philosophical platform that helps companies and the broader public to meaningfully navigate the challenges of 'being human' in the digital age. We organize events for the broader public such as workshops, interactive exhibitions, and panels about the newest technological developments. For companies and institutions, we provide keynotes that help understand their role in ongoing digital transformation of our daily lives.
